Course descriptions

Course 1 - Introduction to e-business
This course introduces the fundamental concepts of e-business and e-commerce. It is aimed at those people with a basic knowledge of e-business or for those who require a 'refresher' course covering basic concepts, language and terms, and how e-business planning fits into a company's total business planning process.

Course 2 - eStrategy
The aim of this course is to place e-business in its proper context within an organisation's overall strategic planning. This course provides a business manager with a foundation for making informed 'e-decisions'. This course has a useful section on examples of good exporter websites and their various components. Also an extensive section on how to select, engage, communicate, and negotiate with an e-business vendor for eg. web developer or email campaign hosting service.

Course 3 - Online Global Marketing
This course progresses e-business from the strategic stage of 'why have a website' to the more practical considerations of 'what' and 'how' with regards to actual implementation, reinforcing the interdependent nature between on-line and off-line activities. It considers e-business and on-line marketing as a marketing tool per se, and re-introduces some of the technical aspects of a website and how these can be manipulated for marketing gain. Also, the course considers the practicalities of globalisation and how these affect website functionality and design - dealing with issues of language, currency, global branding, culture, distribution/customer service, legal, and security.
